ABSTRACT

Atualmente cerca de 19% da população total possui 65+ anos. Em comparação com a década anterior, o peso destes indivíduos traduz um crescimento de 19%, o qual tenderá a acentuar-se nas próximas décadas conforme revelam as projeções demográficas. O presente artigo propõe analisar tendências recentes e alguns problemas sobre o envelhecimento ativo em Portugal: a orientação gerontológica do envelhecimento ativo, bem como a tendência de prolongamento da vida ativa e desdobramentos no contexto da reforma (aposentadoria).


Currently about 19% of the total population has more than 65 years. Compared to the last decade, the weigth of these individuals represents a growth of 19%, which will tend to grow in the coming decades as shown by demographic projections. This article aims to analyze recent trends and some problems on active aging in Portugal: gerontological orientation about active aging, as well as the propensity of increasing the working life and developments in the context of retirement.
